Who is the grandma behind Grandma's Lemon Loaf, you may ask? Elizabeth's maternal grandmother frequently made this dessert, passing it on to Liz's Aunt Kim. One day Liz's mother, Nina, was reminiscing about how good the lemon loaf was and how much she missed having it, but she didn't have the recipe herself. We all know how family recipes can be tightly guarded, so Nina was a little hesitant to ask Kim to share it.
Elizabeth encouraged her to ask, and it was no problem at all for Kim to share it after all. After that, Nina, Liz and Bella began making Grandma's Lemon Loaf on a regular basis, which led to giving out samples of it at Fangboner Farms. Our customers couldn't get enough!
Cut to 2019, when the Toledo Blade's food critic, Mary Bilyeu, wrote a story about it, which lead to an onslaught of holiday orders, and the rest is history! Now it is an indispensable part of what we offer.
