In the first of a multi-part series on the medicinal and culinary uses of our herbs, we are starting with one of our favorites: the applemint that we use in one of our tea blends. Aside from being the perfect mix of tart, minty, and sweet, applemint has many health benefits as well.
First, the blend boasts antioxidants, a perk you definitely want during this COVID health scare. Antioxidants help your body fight back against free radicals that may cause illness, whether its through the foods you eat, the air you breathe, or what you absorb through your skin.
The other benefits of the applemint we grow on our farm is that it can have a calming effect to help you deal with life’s stresses, it can aid in digestion (a characteristic that mint is famous for), and it provides healthy doses of vitamins A, B, and C.
